Food allergies: Allergists are very tuned in to eosinophilic esophagitis, particularly in young people. Food allergens may contribute, and a search should be undertaken to identify then exclude offending ingestants. Entocort has gained popularity as a viable treatment option. If your brother suffers from gerd as well, a standard ppi (acid blocker) drug should be considered too.

Treatments for EoE: The current treatment options for eosinophilic esophagitis include topical steroids (fluticasone inhaler swallowed) and food elimination diet. An allergist with experience in treating eoe can be helpful it guiding food elimination diets.
