Confusing question: If you test positive for anti-gluten antibodies (IGA) , then ANY exposure to gluten can aggravate any related symptoms. If you test negative to anti-gluten antibodies, gluten exclusion is unlikely to effect anything.

EoE: EoE is a mixed form of allergy T and B cell mediated. If a person is allergic to wheat(gluten) then it should be avoided completely to improve the EoE as well as any other foods that the patient is allergic to. Some clinicians treat EoE with a six food elimination diet which includes wheat, empirically.
