Takes time: If you have a burned esophagus (as it sounds), the Zantac (ranitidine) prevents further injury but healing progresses slowly, just like if you burned your hand. You might want to discuss with your nurse if the maximum dose of Zantac (ranitidine) might not be reasonable? (150 mg twice a day).
