Imbalance of: progesterone/ estrogen can lead to bleeding irregularities. If you are on an oral contraceptive that may be involved. Take care.

Possible BC...: If you recently started birth control this could be a side effect from it. However, if you have missed your pills at some point this could also be withdrawal from the BC but I would recommend to check for pregnancy if this has been the case. If not the case and you have taken them as directed and your abnormal bleeding persists please follow up with your doctor on this.
