That's a question: for your ortho. It depends on how stable he feels it is as well as if is healed & how long since the fracture. Once healed, he will be the one who gives you the ok. Plates can remain in if asymptomatic. Also there are metal ions leaching from the plate & screws. Also depends on age of the patient.

Depends: That is a question that you will have to discuss with the orthopedist who did the surgery. That person will have the information that you will need. It is impossible to give that information without the surgical report, etc.
