Sure, with limits.: Doctors licensed in your state, at their discretion of course, can provide you with enough supply of a chronic medication to get you to your regular doctor. But no controlled substances can be,prescribed through HealthTap under any circumstances.
Dr. Budi Bahureksa

No --: Generally No -- because we don't know you and this is not medically sound or advisable

Choosing doc: i believe that is an option, if you know your doctor is a Prime doc, or know of a particular doctor you want to consult. But for the most part, you would see whoever is available if you "call in" randomly

"Live" appointments: HealthTap PRIME doctors see and treat you, via smartphone, tablet, or laptop. They can see photos you upload into your FILES. You can also send images while in the middle of a live PRIME consultation. PRIME can be accessed from anywhere in the world, and patients just have a monthly subscription fee. (Doctors answering the regular, free questions are NOT able to see patients' images or photos.)

Cannot choose a Dr.: HealthTap PRIME began this summer (2014), and is a Primary Care service. A patient is connected with the first available doctor, and different doctors are online at various times. Patients do NOT select a particular doctor. A patient using PRIME has a one-on-one visit with the doctor via smartphone, a tablet, or a computer, and he can show the doctor pictures or test results.

You can ask your doctor to join Health Tap and add you as a concierge patient. Then you will always get that doctor.

My bf has a lot of diff health issues he needs addressed.Would healthtap prime b useful if he's uninsured&wants 2 consult w more than 1 kind of dr?

Sometimes helpful: A patient with multiple health issues must have a real-life doctor who can do a full exam. PRIME is useful for primary care issues that may not need an exam. PRIME is also good for temporary help when one's real-life doctor is unavailable. If a patient is traveling out-of-state she might be able to get help from a PRIME doctor in her vacation state, to take care of a problem before returning home.

A 24-year-old male asked:

Can I be diagnosed and prescribed medication for ADHD via prime?

Not permitted: Although we would be able to assist you in evaluating your symptoms to see if a formal ADHD assessment should be performed, most medications for ADHD would not be permitted to be prescribed via telemedicine. Strattera, (atomoxetine) Clonidine and Intuniv a likely exceptions.
