Sometimes: You should definitely do some physical therapy. Sometimes the nerve discomfort may take some time to resolve. In rare cases it may persist.

Not really: Following surgery, physical therapy is required to ensure good range of motion and minimize scar tissue formation. The work may be hard, but the rewards will be worth it.
