A 27-year-old female asked:
how accurate is a positive ffn test in pre term labour at 33 weeks?

Not reliable: A negative test is strongly supportive of NO labor, but it is recommended that positive test needs to be substantiated by other findings, such as thinning and/or dilatation of the cervix, to confirm labor before administration of meds to stop labor or help the baby's lungs mature.
