Missed Period: When you miss your period, then you can do a home pregnancy test. When positive, it is quite reliable and you do not need a blood pregnancy test unless your doctor feels that you are at risk of ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. Most pregnancies do not need a blood pregnancy test for confirmation.
