Finger pain: The tendon of the finger likely became inflamed when you jammed it. This is called trigger finger. If you are not allergic, you can take Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day with food. A splint can also be applied to immobilize the finger. It may take 6 weeks or longer to resolve. If no improvement, you may need an injection or a surgical release of the tendon.
