Need Elemite: There are no effective home remedies for scabies that I know of. I hope your physician prescribed Elemite, a topical scabicide. You need to apply it to your entire body from the neck down, leave on overnight, and repeat the treatment in 5-7 days. All close associates/family members need to be treated also. You may also need calamine lotion or benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help with the itching.

No: Permethrin cream is effective. Apply to ears completely down to toes. Leave on at least 1/2 day. ALL contacts and everybody in your home must also be treated even if they do not itch. Do not experiment on your oun.
