A member asked:

My husband keeps getting pancreatitis for an unknown reason. could his frequent exposure to black mold be the reason?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubtful: "Black mold" is blamed for everything and I suspect there's an allergy syndrome that's real, but you need to keep searching for a cause for his pancreatitis. A leaking ulcer near the pancreas elevating amylase is one fooler. Some cystic fibrosis alleles, type I/V hyperlipidemia, and of course mutant trypsinogen and a couple of others, are infamous causes of hard-to-diagnose pancreatitis. Good luck
