The pediatrician can: order a Chromosomal Analysis or Chromosomal Microarray on the baby if physical & neurological exams reveal dysmorphic or unusual features characteristic of Down Syndrome or suggestive of another genetic abnormality. The parents need to present their concerns to the pediatrician.
