Rh incompatability: If you deliver an Rh positive baby, there is an increased risk of jaundice in the neonatal period. Most likely, your newborns blood type will be checked shortly after birth and bilirubin levels will be monitored. This method of early detection and treatment (if needed) is a very effective way to prevent complications from hyperbilirubinemia.
