My eye power increased drastically overnight - from 4.75 to 7 !!! how could this happen?

Possible diabetes: If you are a diabetic or could possibly have diabetes then you should check your A1C value to see if it is above normal. If you are not diabetic then this kind of dramatic increase in refractive error could be a sign of cataract. Rarely there are medications that can cause this kind of change. There are also rare eye conditions causing lens dislocation that may also change eye power drastically
