A member asked:

My dad has just been diagnosed with bial duct cancer. what can you tell me about this type of cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Aggressive tumor: Bile duct or cholangiolar carcinoma is an aggressive primary neoplasm of the liver. It arises within the bile ducts and may spread to multiple sites in the body. Occassionally it responds to the same chemotherapy as pancreatic carcinoma. If it is resectable, this is the best approach. If still within liver but large then chemoembolization or radioactive microspheres can be used.
