My heart stopped for a couple of seconds? is this serious?

How did you know?: The key here is - how did you know? If you were told on the basis of a monitor and you had no symptoms with an otherwise normal exam, it's nothing. Many people drop to 30 during sleep (30 means that your heart is beating once every 2 seconds). Pauses up to 5 seconds can be normal. However, the big picture is important. Electrical block on your EKG would make it potentially more serious.
