A member asked:

My son was born with one testicle. can he have a replacement?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Replacement ?: The workup of this problem includes looking for the missing testicle, which could be high in the groin or inside the abdomen. The area is explored at surgery and if found, an attempt is made to bring the testicle into the scrotum. If there is no testicle a synthetic one could be placed.Waiting until puberty to do so could avoid repeated surgeries.
