Maybe,maybe not: About 10% of newborns by c-section and some with rapid delivery develop rapid breathing due to persistence of fetal lung fluid.This usually clears during the trip down the birth canal, or within the first hour. Some will actually need oxygen for a day or so, but most do well with treatment. Making sure this is not some other condition is important to refine the treatment.
