A member asked:

My face turns red after i drink alcohol? is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It can be in many: people, particularly those of Asian or Native American descent. Alcohol is metabolized into acetaldehyde, which can cause severe flushing, redness, sweating, lightheadedness, dizziness and even fainting with very low blood pressure. Acetaldehyde is metabolized into water and carbonic acid by another enzyme, but if this not present genetically those individuals will flush with alcohol.
