Breastfeeding?: If nursing, consider the following from LaLeche League: "Women who practice breastfeeding average 14.6 months of amenorrhea. Seven percent experience a return of their menses in the first six months following childbirth. Thirty-seven percent get their periods back during months seven to twelve. Forty-eight percent get their periods back sometime during the second year after childbirth."

Probably OK: If the delivery was uncomplicated AND if you breast fed your baby for a year or more, the delay in resuming periods is normal. If you had bleeding after delivery and had a curettage, you should visit your doctor for testing for possible scarring inside your uterus.
