Unlikely: Is there pain? Herpes usually is very painful when you have a primary infection and subsequent exacerbations may not be painful. Although the symptom of anal itching alone is not suggestive of herpes, and although your encounter with a girl 8 months ago may have not been significant, I can't tell you that you don't have herpes definitively
