Hiatal hernia GERD: First line therapy for hiatal hernia and gerd, (acid/bile reflux) is medications to lower the acid. If you fail medical therapy, then surgery may help you. Damaged/scarred lower esophagus and cancer can occur with NO therapy. Okay to ask your regular doc about medical therapy. A scope/EGD will be helpful to diagnose and help plan future therapies. Be cautious about surgery before medication.

So it's my 6th week after my open surgery for my mesh inguinal hernia and I've met with my doctor and he said I can lift weights now. Not sure if there are moved I should avoid and how heavy can I lift. Also how should I progress with heavier weight?
