Not FDA approved: but really won't do anything bad to you if you have kidneys. (not recommended for dialysis patients). Slight (very slight) effect to loosen stools from the magnesia. The fluids are helpful in colds as is the warmth. Mainly, its going to RUIN the taste of the soup, so I wouldn't do it. The soup is the main benefit.
