Pros and cons: Early on in recovery from a concussion it is good to avoid stimulant drinks. Your brain need to rest not only from physical but from cognitive tasks. After a few weeks a good part of recovery has occurred and caffeine containing drinks in moderation are ok (2 cups a day before noon). For those with post concussion syndrome and prolonged recovery, up to a year, caffeine can help with symptoms, http://www.bidmc.org/Centers-and-Departments/Departments/Neurology/Concussion-and-Traumatic-Brain-Injury-Clinic/Educational-Information-About-Traumatic-Brain-Injury/Post-Concussive-Syndrome.aspx
