A member asked:

If hgh is given during growth plate fusion can my son grow disproportionate (eg. just the hip/jaw grows) since not all gro.pla. fuse at the same time?

Yes but: There is a possibility given continued GH therapy that such growth will occur. There are, however, proven benefits of continued use of growth hormone for cardiovascular health, bone density and metabolism. Continued dosing would be individualized in this situation. The lower doses would likely not lead to significant disproportionate growth. Best to discuss this with your son's endocrinologist

Yes: The hormone will primarily affect those areas undergoing growth during the time of administration. Orthodontic/surgical management may eventually be required.
