A member asked:

3x2cm firm painless intramuscular lump in thigh. no trauma. us inconclusive but has minimal vascularity. lump now smaller. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lipoma: I suspect that a 3x2cm lesion would be subcutaneous other wise not palpable. Intramuscular lesions, even those that are benign attain larger sizes when palpated. A lipoma can be firm and painless as well as a fibroma. These may change in size when palpated. I would only be concerned if the lesion were enlarging in size.
