Not too long: It really boils down to what is infected. If it's a a blood infection, then damage can occur pretty quickly as the bacteria starts to grow in the blood and gets deposited in areas such as the heart, lung, vertebrae, kidneys and other parts. Therefore, don't wait for long to treat this of infection.
