A doctor has provided 1 answer

Snap, Crackle,Pop!: You might have a touch of arthritis in your neck that leads to that crunchy sound ('crepitations') in your neck when you twist it. That in turn could lead to some reactive muscle tightness. In some people it gets so bad it leads to a headache. Usually some x-rays help see if there's arthritis in there. The treatment involves medication, massage, range of motion exercises, proper posture and rest.
