Spotting: if you are sexually acitve would get a blood/ urine pregnancy test and if that is negative consider a sonogram. It could pregnancy or infection (vaginal ,tubes) including PID. , Note even on BCP or with IUD there may be irregularity and cramping. If urine test negative seek medical attention this week .
