A member asked:

Dr told me i have an external hemorrhoid but i think i have a sentinel pile instead. whats the difference? how do u treat it? is there any1 i can see?

They are different: External hemorrhoids are due to hemorrhoidal disease , develops as they extend out side , usually 3 at 3 hemorrhoidal site. Sentinel pile is single , present at the end of anal fissure usually very painful . as the name suggest is like a guard at the fissure. Drink plenty of fluids , take stool softeners and local care , will heal most of the time , or may need procedural intervention ( surgery )
