Yes, it will work: Nuvaring normally can be taken out up to 2 hours for intercourse and put back in safely and still prevent pregnancy. If it is put back in 3 hours however, Plan B would be a safe "back up" method to prevent any sperm stragglers from making it to Nirvana(the spurious egg).
