Weight loss/soda: YES! I have seen people shed 5-10 pounds by eliminating soda and juice and replacing with WATER. Even diet soda is not healthy as you end up wanting more sweets.

Lose liquid calories: Drinking 500 calories of juice or fizzy drinks/soda per day amounts to 3500 calories/week, which is the number of calories in a pound of fat. Replacing fizzy drinks and fruit juice with water does indeed help with weight loss. How much is 500 calories? Two 20 ounce bottles of many sodas, or three 12oz cans plus a glass of orange juice. If you only drink juice, then four and a half cups of juice.
