It doesn't: work specifically better with one vs the other. Adding abilify (aripiprazole) to antidepressant can help for recalcitrant depression.

It can: Like in the case of treatment resistant depression. Some patients do better when Abilify (aripiprazole) is added to medications like Zoloft or Cymbalta, so called augmentation. But remember it isn't always the case, everyone patient/person is different.
