Exophthalmos?: Hi. Unilateral exophthalmos (eye sticking out) and/or proptosis (eyelid retracted) can be a manifestation of a thyroid disease called Graves' disease, or other tumors or infiltrative conditions behind the eyeball. Please see an ophthalmologist (MD who diagnoses and treats eye diseases...different than an optometrist, who prescribes glasses).
