See dermatologist: a picture can tell us more than words when it comes to rashes. This sounds odd based on the coloration you describe and it sounds like it is enlarging. I would seek dermatology consult

Tinea versicolor?: It MIGHT be tinea versicolor, a harmless fungal infection of the skin. A dermatologist could tell you for sure.
