Many reasons : many things can cause this. If worst HA of your life, associated with neck pain, vision changes, balance problems, focal weakness arm/leg, trouble speaking or skin rash need to be seen ASAP. If none of these can try headache formulation OTC pain reliever if no contraindication to taking it. If HA continues for 2-3 days or more please see doctor. Hope this helps and you feel better soon.
