Fertile Period: Pregnancy happens during the fertile phase of a menstrual cycle.
In a regular cycle of 28 days it is usually Day 12 to Day 16 of the cycle. Since sperm survive for 72 hours and eggs for 24 hours, the actual fertile phase is 3 days before ovulation and 24 hours after ovulation considering that you know your ovulation day. Good Luck

Near ovulation: You can only get pregnant around the time of ovulation. This occurs approximately 14 days after your menstrual cycle begins. Sperm can live in the female genital tract for up to five days so if you have sex before, during or just after ovulation your chances of becoming pregnant will be greatest.
