Not consistent: Cold hands and cold feet are not consistent with or specific to heart failure. There are many other problems that can cause that. Most of them have to do either with spasm of the blood vessels or obstruction of the blood vessels. Heart failure is usually characterized by swelling, difficulty breathing with exertion or when laying on one's back.
