Long time: That seems like an extra long time. Yes it can be delayed, but not usually 8 months. I would see your gyn.

Not necessarily: The fact that the periods took so long to return doesn't nececessarily affect how soon you will conceive.Ovulation still takes place approximately once ER month followed by menses if you don't conceive.
