Possibe: Alcohol is a brain sedative. Withdrawal can vary from seizures, delirium to mild agitation. Predicting the severity of withdrawal is difficult as tolerance varies greatly.

No: Not itching. But shaking is very common-tremors which can worsen to the point of a seizure, seizures can be dangerous as a person may stop breathing. Dts or delirium tremans are later withdrawal symptoms occuring about 3- 5 days after the last drink and consist of hallucinations and disorientation. There are good treatments available for alcohol abuse and dependency.
