It you mean: staph CELLULITIS, yes. It's very concerning and needs immediate treatment. Contact your doctor immediately or see the ER.

In short Yes!: If you mean Staphylococcus aureus cellulitis, then yes. It can be a very invasive organism. In addition, many people get recurrent staph infections despite antibiotic treatment. Many staph have some drug resistance. The GOOD news. Staph infections can be treated whether they have resistance or not. Keep and eye on it, take your antibiotics, and see your provider if any worsening. Be well!
