Metabolism: Hot flashes are typically related menopause and low estrogen. Some people with diabetes can get hot flashes when their blood sugar goes too low. Their Insulin dose is usually not correct. When a healthy person eats a large amount of sugar or carbohydrate, his/her metabolism may speed up, temporarily increasing body temperature.
