A 21-year-old female asked:
This may be a dumb question, but when someone says they got a positve preg test 10 days post ovulation, does that mean 10 days after sex?

Not always: Sex resulting in pregnancy can take place up to 2 days before or 2 days after ovulation. 10 days post ovulation is about the earliest a pregnancy test would show positive. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Menstrual cycle: The first day that you bleed is the first day of your menstrual cycle. Ovulation occurs 14 days later. Ten days post ovulation would be 24 days into that menstrual cycle. That said, fertilization of the egg by the sperm often happens in the Fallopian Tube. A pregnancy test only becomes positive when the fertilized egg produces bets HCG.
