Odor after period: After you period you can have a change in odor due to changes in your vaginal PH. You can use a vinegar douche after your menses to help balance the PH. During the rest of the month try not to use panties while you sleep to allow for better circulation to the area which will also help prevent odors.

Possible infection: an ammonia odor is not normal. it is often a sign of infection. you need to be checked to make sure you do not have an infection or a retained tampon.
