Unknown: Based on available data there is a very small percentage of children who are allergic to the PCV vaccine. The likelihood increased if there is an allergic reaction that the child will react to the next dose. The PCV vaccine protects against serious infections including pneumonia, meningitis, otitis. The risk of serious complications from these illness is orders of magnitude higher than allergy.
