Simplest of fracture: Fractures are often describe by there geometry as the fracture line(s) traverse across the involved bone. A transverse fracture is essentially a straight line on appearance across the long axis of the bone. An oblique fracture is a fracture line that crosses the bone obliquely. A spiral fracture is a longer 3-D oblique fracture that rotates around the long axis of the injured bone.
