A member asked:

Scheuermann's disease (humpback) is a disease of the spine that victims are born with, what causes this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No one knows 4 sure: Scheuermann's disease, which usually shows up at 13-16 years old, causes a 'hunching forward' appearance of the spine. It occurs in less than 1% of people in the US, is more common in males, and no one knows for sure what causes it, although there seems to be a genetic component that contributes to it.
