A member asked:

What to do if i have serious headache brought on by straining/pushing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Headache: Straining/pushing can cause tightening/ spasm of head/neck muscles or ligaments causing tension headache. Some resting, anti-inflammatory medications should help. Some low dose muscle relaxant might help to relax muscles and alleviate headache. For very severe headache ("the worse headache of your life") or if having dizziness, blurry vision or nausea/vomiting, you should go to ER to be evaluated.
