Exam, xray, mri: One can tell if a joint such as an AC joint is separated of dislocated by a combination of exam, xray and mri A separated joint may be grade 1-3 and the joint may be subluxed or partially out of place A dislocated joint is totally out of place and usually needs to be reduced or put back in the proper position
